EARLY CAREER DEVELOPMENT AWARD

APPLYING FOR A EARLY CAREER DEVELOPMENT AWARD

Delegates are eligible to apply for an Early-Career Researcher (ECR) Career Development Award (CDA) if you are 0 to 5 years post-PhD, considering career disruptions. Any winner of an ECR award will be ineligible to win an MCR award in the next year. (Post-PhD is when your PhD was awarded (passed), not conferred in an award ceremony). 


APPLICANT CRITERIA INCLUDES:

  • Applicants must be within 0 - 5 years post PhD being awarded, career disruptions being considered

  • Applicants must have completed the Early Career Development Award application criteria available via the registration and submission portal before clicking “submit abstract” 

  • Applicants must submit an abstract for consideration as an oral presentation prior to the deadline.


AWARDS ARE PROUDLY SPONSORED BY THE VICTORIAN INFECTION AND IMMUNITY NETWORK, THE AUSTRALIAN INFECTIOUS DISEASES RESEARCH CENTRE, AND THE LORNE INFECTION AND IMMUNITY CONFERENCE.


AWARD DETAILS:

The three successful applicants will receive full registration at the Lorne Infection and Immunity conference, 19th -21 February 2025. If the successful applicants(s) have already paid for registration at the conference, then their payment will be refunded.

Applicants must be within 0 - 5 years post PhD being awarded, (with allowances for career disruptions). Past recipients of a Lorne Infection and Immunity Early Career Development Award are not eligible.
The committee reserve the right not to award a prize or prizes at their discretion.
Applications are assessed by members of the Lorne Infection and Immunity organising committee and applicants will be notified of the outcome by email after Friday 11th October 2024.

The Early Career Development Award application is to be submitted via the registration dashboard. The options will appear following the abstract submission.  Please note the following:

  • Yes, you should have submitted your Early Career Development Award application at the SAME TIME that you submitted your abstract.

  • Please login to Currinda to note the questions you are required to complete in your application.

  • You will be advised to prepare your responses to these questions in a Word document and copy-paste your answers into Currinda.

  • Please note that word counts applied to each response.
