Career Development Awards 

The Lorne Infection and Immunity Conference is pleased to offer three Career Development Awards to postdoctoral researchers.  The purpose of these awards is to assist early career researchers who have contributed to their discipline to further their careers by attending the Lorne Infection and Immunity conference.

Applicant Criteria Includes:
- Applicants must be within 6 years of their PhD being awarded, career disruptions being considered
- Applicants must complete the Career Development Award application criteria available via the registration and submission portal (Currinda) before clicking “submit abstract”
- Applicants must have submitted an abstract for consideration as an oral presentation prior to the deadline of 26 October 2018.

AWARDS ARE PROUDLY SPONSORED BY THE VICTORIAN INFECTION AND IMMUNITY NETWORK, THE AUSTRALIAN INFECTIOUS DISEASES RESEARCH CENTRE, AND THE LORN INFECTION AND IMMUNITY CONFERENCE.

Award details:

The three successful applicants will receive full registration (priced at $650 each) at the Lorne Infection and Immunity conference, 20 - 22 February 2019.  If the successful applicants(s) have already paid for registration at the conference, then their payment will be refunded.

Applicants must have completed their PhD within the last six years (with allowances for career disruptions).  Past recipients of a VIIN Career Development Award are not eligible.

The committee reserves the right not to award a prize or prizes at their discretion.

Applications will be assessed by members of the Lorne Infection and Immunity organising committee and applicants will be notified of the outcome by email by 30 November 2018.

Student Poster Prize

The Victorian branch of the Australian Society for Microbiology is supporting two student poster prizes. Winners will each receive a cash prize and a one-year student membership to ASM.
